For this assignment I have researched some photographers and I have also got some photos off pinterest which fit with my theme.
I have included this image in my research because it incorporates several different elements of composition, angles, depth of field and shadows/tones.
I really like this image as most of the saddle is in focus except from the knee roll and the front of the stirrup, I think this is really effective as it makes the focal point in the middle of the image, I also like how the image is full of all different tones, this makes the saddle look realistic instead of just having one tone and it looking a bit fake.
I am hoping to re-create a photo similar to this in my work as I feel it is really effective and it includes different elements of composition and it is appealing to the eye.
I think the location of this image is also effective because although you can't really see much of the background you can tell that it is on a horses back as the saddle pad/numnah is shown and you can see the top of the horses back.
I think this is the most effective location for this image as I think if it had just been placed on a stable door/saddle rack, the numnah wouldn't have made the right shape and it wouldn't look as good/profesional.
I have included this photo in my research as it is relevant to my theme and I would like to try and recreate an image similar to this in my own work.
This photo uses a narrow depth of field and is only focused on the bit, I think this is effective because the bit is one of the main parts of a bridle so by using a narrow depth of field the photographer is showing that it is the most important thing in the photo. The reins are also slightly more in focus than the rest of the image and this shows that they are also an important part of the bridle.
I think the location this image was taken in works well with the image because it is not too bright/distracting from the main focal point, it is also a dark colour so the shadows really stand out on it.
